404 I cant find anything!

Custom 404 pages can be really helpfull or really hurtfull. Most times people just hit them and walk away looking for something else or poking about the rest of the site. Sometimes they are looking for something that doesn’t exist, other times its because we have messed up linking a file and the server have no idea what we are looking for.

A 404 page for a good designer can be crazy useful, if you keep tags on your analytics with Mint or Google you can see where people are getting lost on your site and maybe fix the architecture. But I know alot of people dont know what to put on the 404 page, well if your like my friend Jason you put a funny picture. But if you really want some good take a note from Aarron in his book, but a search box on it and maybe a site map would be a great thing to help direct traffic into other areas.
