About me
My name is Jake Beachboard. I'm a web developer fresh out of the Art Institute of Atlanta with my BFA in web development. I've been playing on the Internet since modems needed the phone put on top of them and I still can't kick the habit.
Outside of the Internet my interests are music, muscle cars, and miniature war gaming. If the later happens to be something you're interested in feel free to check out my other site ShadyRabbit.com.

PhoenixGames-atl.com
PhoenixGames-Atl.com was a site developed for a miniature game store located north of Atlanta. The owner of the company asked me to design a site that would not only bring across his business interests but also allow people of the community to have interaction with each-other. The biggest challenge was that all content needed to be updated by him so a WordPress theme was designed and implemented. The following page is the currently active site with content added by the owner.
Agathas.com
Back in 2007, I was asked by ThesePixels.net to design a site for Agatha’s, a dinner theater in downtown Atlanta. Some time passed and now I've been asked to revisit the site, keeping the design as similar as possible but update the code to w3c valid and improve the SEO. The current site hosted on 5thHubcap.com is the work in progress, once approved the site will go live. Once up the analytics will be reviewed to see if it was a success.
Email Newsletter Application
The newsletter application was built to help the people at Phoenix Games to send out sharp looking HTML emails on a constant basis. Due to the number of emails they send out to their community (around six a month), and the need for a locally available archive, using a service such as MailChimp would not be cost efficient, so a custom PHP application was built to suit their needs. The application consists of eight pages, three that are for public viewing. The rest for the back end that lets a user edit, save, and send out HTML emails.
Greater Atlanta Aqua Society
Designed for the Greater Atlanta Aqua Society this site was built to help its teachers access information easily and get in contact with the administrators. The site was designed in competition with another team. The following site is what our team produced.
Ulli - Buying Custom Art
Currently in production, Ulli is a project that I’ve been working on for my senior final project. The site's purpose is to let artists post that they are open for commissions and to let buyers find those artists and purchase art from them. Most importantly, this site it to help artists stay organized. Because the site is still under construction, here you can find all of the documentation currently completed as well as screen shots of the current mock-up.
Designs and Identities
Along with web design I also do a lot of corporate identity and custom drafting. Two of my latest clients have been Phoenix Games of Atlanta and Holiday Inn.
Phoenix Games
Phoenix Games was building a brand new brick and mortar shop with no idea on the shop design, logo, or inside shop materials. When they contacted me about their webpage they also inquired about extra designs such as the from windows, cards, logo, t-shirt, and play mats.
Holiday Inn
Holiday Inn however needed a custom solution for their new Kem’s Restaurants. Kem’s Restaurants are redesigns of the Holiday Inn bar area, for the new buildings the standard pre designed packages work but hundreds of existing Holiday Inns needed to be refitted and most of them could not fit the standard 27ft bar soffit so in many of the situations a 11ft soffit needed to be designed.
